Her response just gave Donald Trump more fuel to make it stick.

First it was Low Energy Bush, Little Marco and Lying Ted.   Using nicknames to expose the weakness of his rivals has been an effective strategy for Republican front-runner Donald Trump, and now Hillary has received hers.

In an interview recently with Sean Hannity, Trump hinted about the nickname, saying “a pretty good one” would soon be revealed.    He launched it during a rally in Dexter, New York Saturday.

“I’m not controlled by the special interests and the lobbyists. And they control crooked Hillary, and they control lyin’ Ted Cruz, right?” he said.

Clinton responded in an interview with ABC News, saying she could really care less about the new nickname.

“I can take care of myself,” Clinton said. “What I’m concerned about is how he goes after everybody else. He goes after women. He goes after Muslims. He goes after immigrants. He goes after people with disabilities. He is hurting our unity at home. He is undermining the values that we stand for in New York and across America. And he’s hurting us around the world.”

Trump, continued the new line of attack Sunday. “She’s been crooked from the beginning. And to think, she has shot of being our president?” he mocked. “Crooked Hillary Clinton. We can’t let it happen!”

He followed it up with a couple Twitter blasts, just for good measure:
