During a spur-of-moment visit with reporters Tuesday afternoon, President Trump responded to questions about Roy Moore, the embattled former judge in Alabama who is running for U.S. Senate.
Moore has been hit with allegations of sexual misconduct from multiple women, and has denied all the allegations, despite many Republicans who have now withdrawn their support.
When asked about Moore on Tuesday, President Trump made it clear that what he did not want to see happen is for Moore’s Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, to win the seat.
“We don’t need a liberal person in there, a Democrat,” he said, adding, “I’ve looked his record, it’s terrible on crime, it’s terrible on the border, it’s terrible on the military. I can tell you for a fact, we do not need somebody that’s going to be bad on crime, bad on borders, bad with the military, bad for the second amendment.”
Reporters brought up all the sexual allegations facing Moore, to which Trump responded, “Well, he denies it, he totally denies it, he says it didn’t happen, so you have to listen to him also. He said 40 years ago it did not happen.”
When questioned repeatedly, Trump again noted that Moore has denied the allegations.
He also discussed his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin Tuesday afternoon.
Watch the full exchange below, which took place prior to his departure to Florida, where he will spend Thanksgiving at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
Liberals are outraged over his remarks, alleging that the president has just endorsed a “child molester.” See Twitter comments below video.

Trump’s standard for male guilt apparently is: “he says he didn’t do it, so I believe him.” Applies equally to Roy Moore and Vlad Putin.

Pres Trump asked about Roy Moore and the #ALSEN race: “We don’t need a liberal person in there, a democrat…”
Q: Is an accused child molester better than a democrat?
Trump: “Well, he denies it…”
