Donald Trump is creating a lineup of celebrities to help add pizzaz and pomp to the GOP Convention.
So far, the marquee names being considered include former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, Superbowl winner Mike Ditka, former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight and NASCAR chief Brian France. The list is expected to grow over the coming days.
What sort of roles the stars will have at the convention is uncertain. According to Bloomberg News, none of the stars have been slated as stage speakers, but that could change as Trump is going to great lengths to ensure the GOP Convention is one for the ages.
In venues surrounding the July 18-21 convention, The Beach Boys, Journey, Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry will perform at concert events. The musical performances will be paid for by various groups, not the Republican National Committee.
Back in the convention venue, the stage, which will feature curving white staircases and a gigantic digital screen made of more than 600 LED panels, was unveiled for the first time Tuesday.
