Trump is “the most deplorable person I’ve ever met in my life”

Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) continued her never-ending crusade against Trump on Friday, calling him “the most deplorable person” she has ever met.

While unoriginal, the insult is especially weak for Waters, who has previously produced such gems as suggesting Trump be “exiled” rather than impeached. But, “most deplorable?” There are more liberals who have called Trump deplorable than who haven’t, first and foremost being the top dog herself.

It is likely Waters thinks she’s being politically clever by calling back the phrase in an attempt to spark liberal diehards, although the election took a turn for the worse right about the time Hillary uttered the fateful basket comment.

Waters was prodded to her favorite topic of a Trump impeachment on the “Morning Joe” show Friday and needed little help filling air space.

“I’ve long thought that there was a lot of smoke, even fire… and that everything that I have learned about this president, starting with the campaign itself, [was] that people should have understood that there was something terribly wrong with him,” Waters said on the left-leaning program. “As a matter of fact, I have said over and over again, I think he’s the most deplorable person I’ve ever met in my life,” she added.

Nonetheless, the lawmaker succeeded in making yet another headline, something she’s been doing so consistently it has led some to speculate she’s making a run at a 2020 presidential campaign. But, if her plan is to win by a media-driven insult war of attrition against Trump, she’s showing that her memory is failing.

“He is a flawed man with no real values and no real appreciation or understanding for government or public policy,” she said. “No, I have no hopes that anybody is going to be able to contain him or that he’s going to change.”
