On Saturday, President Trump snuck away from the press to attend a private fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
The fundraiser was for Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and was reportedly not officially listed in Trump’s daily schedule.
According to The Washington Post, Trump purposely left out his usual entourage of reporters when attending the fundraiser.
Deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders later informed the press on Sunday that Trump attended the fundraiser of 800 guests, where he was met with universal cheer and applause. This is the third weekend in a row Trump has traveled to Mar-a-Lago.
Originally, Harvard Medical School students protested the notion of holding the fundraiser at the Trump estate. Despite their disapproval, the Institute responded by citing that “contracts have been signed, and a large number of people have committed to attend” about having the event remain at Mar-a-Lago.
