In an effort to quell chatter about his political aspirations, Donald Trump Jr. announced on Tuesday that he will not make a run for governor of New York in 2018.
“Maybe someday,” Trump Jr. told the Associated Press, adding, “It’s not something I’m doing now. But, you never know, it’s fascinating stuff.”
In acknowledgment of a recent news report that claimed the eldest son of the president was “interested in running for office,” Trump Jr. commented, “If I was, New York City mayor is much less interesting to me than, perhaps, other things like governor of a state.”
He added, “That’s not saying I’m running. It’s just saying that, hey, if I ever did something, I’d probably be more interested in something like that.”
