Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump’s legal defense team, got heated with Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday. Sekulow appeared on Fox News to defend the president and explain where he stands in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Wallace questioned if the president is indeed under investigation for an obstruction of justice charge after Trump appeared to confirm so in a tweet last week. Sekulow tried to debunk the tweet by saying Trump was not under investigation, but then he told Wallace, “he’s being investigated for taking the action the attorney general and the deputy attorney general recommended him to take.”
Wallace was confused by Sekulow’s contradicting comments. “What’s the question? I mean you stated some facts. First of all, you’ve now said he’s being investigated,” Wallace said. “You just said he’s being investigated.”
Sekulow grew angry over Wallace’s accusations that he was contradicting himself, saying Wallace was “putting words in his mouth.”
Sekulow also appeared on NBC this morning in an attempt to spread the word that the president is not under investigation. You can watch a clip here:
