Trump and Romney met today and decided to let election rhetoric and name calling be election rhetoric and name calling, so the two can move forward with what’s good for the country.
NBC news reports that the two, once bitter rivals for the same job, had a very productive meeting today at the Trump National Golf Club, in Bedminster, New Jersey. It was a closed door, man to man, meeting that lasted an hour and a half.

Members of Trump’s transition team had arrived in Washington D.C. on Friday and began rapidly building a powerhouse of a political team; with Ret. Lieutenant General Mike Flynn as his National Security Advisor, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, as Trump’s Attorney General, and Kansas Rep Mike Pompeo in the CIA Director position.
According to NBC sources, Trump has been considering Mitt Romney for the position of Secretary of State although Trump has neither confirmed or denied that.
Romney addressed the media and discussed the meeting in general terms, stating, “it was a “very thorough and in-depth discussion in the time we had and I appreciate the chance to speak with the president-elect and look forward to the coming administration.”
Trump personally escorted the former Governor of Massachusetts outside and told the awaiting press when asked about the meeting, “It went great.”
