Trump Listening To Retired General’s Advice on Waterboarding

The Military Times reports that Trump may be changing his mind about his stance on allowing waterboarding.

Trump mentioned a meeting he had with retired Gen. James Mattis, one of Trump’s candidates for secretary of Defense.

When Trump asked Mattis what his feelings were on waterboarding, Mattis replied, ‘I’ve never found it to be useful,” adding that Mattis told him of interrogations in general: “‘Give me a pack of cigarettes and a couple of beers, and I’ll do better.’”

Trump says he is “seriously considering” Mattis for DoD, says he asked Mattis about waterboarding, was surprised he didn’t favor it.  Trump stated that he was very impressed with Mattis’s answer.
