The U.S. will pledge$50 million to the new World Bank Group Facility for Women Entrepreneurship, President Trump announced on Saturday.
“The critical investments we’re announcing today will help advance the economic empowerment of women around the world,” Trump said while at the G-20 Summit.
The Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative will provide financing, consulting, mentoring, and partnerships for women-led start-ups from around the globe.
Ivanka Trump will offer mentoring for those involved in the program, but will in no way be involved in fundraising.
Leaders from around the world, including but not limited to Japan, Germany and Canada, are praising the initiative and making additional pledges.
