Trump Soars Higher than Obama In Segment Of New Poll

According to the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll Tuesday, 52 percent of likely U.S. voters approve of President Trump’s job performance to date, while 48 percent disapprove.

The poll showed that 45 percent of people believe that the country is “headed in the right direction,” a level of optimism higher than was found during any week of the Obama presidency.

The same poll also revealed a vast division along party lines, with 79 percent of Republicans approving of Trump’s performance, and 72 percent of Democrats disapproving. Voters not affiliated with either major party approved by 51 percent, and disapproved by 49 percent.

The latest figures include 36 percent of all likely voters strongly approving Trump’s job performance, and 39 percent who strongly disapprove, resulting in a Presidential Approval Index rating of -3.

An estimated 500 people were surveyed in the poll.

The Rasmussen poll numbers differ greatly from the latest Gallup poll, which found that only 40 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s performance.
