In President Trump’s weekly address Friday morning, he highlighted the pending confirmation of his nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch.
He said Judge Gorsuch’s nomination is about more than his qualifications — it’s about preserving our Republic.
“In recent years, we’ve seen more judges make decisions, not based on the Constitution or the rule of law, but based on their preferences, their personal views, or even their political opinions,” Trump said. He said this damages our democracy and undermines the legislative process that has always been the heartbeat of our democracy.
Another interesting thing about this weekly address is how well produced it is, including the musical score used to punch home the president’s message. This is the second week in a row that the weekly address plays more like a short film than a boring talking head video.
