Trump suing Florida property appraiser

President Trump is suing the Palm Beach County property appraiser and the head of the Florida Department of Revenue in order to get a lower taxable property value on Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter.

The Palm Beach Post is reporting that despite the fact he claimed in financial disclosures from 2016 and 2017 that the property was worth “over $50 million”, Trump disagrees with the property appraiser’s estimate of $18.4 million.

A complaint was filed by Jupiter Golf Club LLC against Palm Beach County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks and Palm Beach County Tax Collector Anne Gannon, who is also head of the Florida Department of Revenue.

In 2014, Trump insisted the property was not nearly worth the $25 million it was appraised at, saying he paid only $5 million for it in 2012.
