Trump to give out most dishonest media awards

In his latest jab at the media, President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday that he will be announcing “THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR” next week.

“I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock. Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!”

Trump has long been critical of the “fake news media,” chastising certain newspapers and networks for publishing false or misleading stories and citing anonymous sources. According to Trump, “it is very possible that those sources don’t exist.”

“Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names, it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!” Trump tweeted in May 2017.

Trump declared in February 2017 that the “FAKE NEWS media” is the “enemy of the American people,” and named several news outlets which are likely to be recipients of his “Most Dishonest and Corrupt Awards,” including The New York Times, NBC News, ABC News, CBS News and CNN.

“The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!” Trump tweeted.
