On Thursday, President Donald J. Trump made an announcement about the rally he will be attending in Indiana tonight to push momentum toward  Senate candidate Mike Braun.

Trump tweeted: Will be going to Evansville, Indiana, tonight for a big crowd rally with Mike Braun, a very successful businessman who is campaigning to be Indiana’s next U.S. Senator. He is strong on Crime & Borders, the 2nd Amendment, and loves our Military & Vets. Will be a big night!

Braun has been using  Trump in his campaign ads, aligning himself with the president and his policies. Interestingly, according to the Indy Star, so has his Democratic opponent Joe Donnelly.

From the Star: Braun and Sen. Donnelly have stuck to their pro-Trump messaging, appearing unfazed by the criminal findings last week against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen — despite not knowing whether those developments could have deeper implications for the president down the road.

In the past week, both Braun and Donnelly released ads featuring them shaking Trump’s hand.

Despite the ongoing swirl over Manafort’s convictions and Cohen’s guilty pleas, political scientists say the Senate candidates’ decisions to staple themselves to Trump is the right move in a red-state such as Indiana, which Trump carried by 19 percentage points. in 2016.

Trump will be speaking at the Ford Center in Evansville at 7 pm ET.
