TRUMP TWEET: Big Rally (I command a formidable army)

The president took to Twitter on Friday morning to share thoughts about the economy and jobs being created in the United States.

In his first tweet, the president wrote: “Toyota & Mazda to build a new $1.6B plant here in the U.S.A. and create 4K new American jobs. A great investment in American manufacturing!”

In his second tweet, he wrote: “….and don’t forget that Foxconn will be spending up to 10 billion dollars on a top of the line plant/plants in Wisconsin.”

In his third tweet, he wrote: “Consumer confidence is at a 16 year high….and for good reason. Much more regulation “busting” to come. Working hard on tax cuts & reform!”

The president posted the tweets the morning after an impressive rally in West Virginia Wednesday evening. He tweeted about that, as well: “West Virginia was incredible last night. Crowds and enthusiasm were beyond, GDP at 3%, wow! Dem Governor became a Republican last night.”

The tweets also came a day after Special Counsel Robert Mueller impaneled a grand jury in Washington, D.C., as part of his investigation into potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Describing the power of the rally last night amid the controversies facing Trump, conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer told Tucker Carlson of Fox News that President Donald Trump’s rally in West Virginia is a “very important demonstration” by the president to reaffirm that his base still has his back.

“Here’s a guy whose numbers are down in the 30s,” Krauthammer said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “He’s got this grand jury – reports of a grand jury being convened – he’s got the walls kind of closing in on him in Washington. And, here he’s going out into the country and saying, ‘These are my people. These are real people. Forget about the numbers. Forget about the chatter in Washington. Forget about the stories about Russia (which he spent a lot of time on), but, I represent a huge constituency of tremendous support and enthusiasm.’

“I think this appearance that he did in West Virginia tonight is a way of saying, ‘My numbers may be down, but I command a formidable army.’”
