The president took to Twitter Friday morning to share his thoughts about the border wall he wants to build between the US and Mexico.
The president tweeted: “Tremendous pressure is building, like never before, for the Border Wall and an end to crime cradling Sanctuary Cities. Started the Wall in San Diego, where the people were pushing really hard to get it. They will soon be protected!
During his campaign, Trump vowed to build a great wall that would be paid for by Mexico. To date, he has failed to get the Mexican government to comply, and support from the GOP-led Congress to build a wall has been weak. Thus, no wall exists and the flow of migrants into the US continues to skyrocket.
Sections of new bollard fencing, which has proven to be ineffective, has been recently installed in some areas and prototypes of a border wall do exist in the San Diego region. However, until the president addresses the real issue, it is my contention that the illegal activity at the border will continue to be bigger than he desires.
I tweeted in response to his morning tweet: “Border wall the side salad that comes w/ the 18oz NY Strip steak. It’s good, but it’s not the main dish. Cutting the jobs magnet is the beaf. Put tremendous pressure on stop illegal workers from working. If so, not only will migrants not come, but those here now will GO HOME.”
