President Trump announced Thursday that he will not be attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, which is taking place January 22-25.

The president said he is cancelling his scheduled trip to Davos, due to the ongoing debate with Democrats over border security.

The World Economic Forum’s annual conference is an invitation-only event for government leaders and executives of global companies.

Trump tweeted:

Because of the Democrats intransigence on Border Security and the great importance of Safety for our Nation, I am respectfully cancelling my very important trip to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum. My warmest regards and apologies to the @WEF!
