President Trump tweeted out a video Friday night of a press conference he held from his New Jersey golf club.

The press conference followed Trump’s private national security briefing Friday afternoon with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, national security adviser H.R. McMaster and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

President Trump said they talked about North Korea, and were very unified in their positions on the situation. “This is something that has to stop,” he said, noting he would be speaking with the president of China later Friday night.

On South Korea, he said they probably feel as “reassured as they can feel,” and added that Japan is also happy with the job the U.S. is doing (regarding dealing with North Korea.)

“Were you being sarcastic when you thanked Vladimir Putin from expelling 755 diplomats from Russia?” Trump was asked.

“In order to reduce our payroll, absolutely, I think you know that,” Trump responded. He confirmed with Tillerson that they would have a response to that situation by September 1st. “But we have reduced payroll very substantially,” he quipped.

“Hopefully it will all work out,” he said, about North Korea. “Nobody loves a peaceful solution better than President Trump, that I can tell you… But this has been going on for many years. It would have been a lot easier to solve this years ago before they’re in the position they’re in… But we will see what happens. We think that lots of good things could happen, and we could also have a bad solution.”

“I think General Kelly has done a fantastic job, he is respected by everybody,” Trump responded to a question about his new Chief of Staff, Gen. John Kelly.

Trump was asked about the Senate’s failure to repeal and replace Obamacare, and said “what happened last week is unacceptable.” Trump stated that “there are things I can do as President that will have a huge impact on healthcare (outside of congress) so you watch.”
