Trump Tweet: Compares China and US tariffs. DML responds.

The president took to Twitter on Monday morning to explain the differential between tariffs paid by the US and China for cars.

In his tweet, Trump writes: “When a car is sent to the United States from China, there is a Tariff to be paid of 2 1/2%. When a car is sent to China from the United States, there is a Tariff to be paid of 25%. Does that sound like free or fair trade. No, it sounds like STUPID TRADE – going on for years!”

Trump’s tweet marks the latest tit for tat with China, in what the media is calling a trade war.

DML responded with a tweet of praise. “Tough love. I like it Mr President. Now apply it everywhere and 2018 could go to the Republicans.”
