A war of words blazes on between CNN and President Donald J. Trump.

Lanny Davis says he made a mistake when he said his client, Michael Cohen, had information for the special counsel Robert Mueller regarding the Russia investigation

Davis says he was at least one source for a CNN story that claimed Cohen had such information, and that he was “willing to make that assertion.” He now says he “was giving an instinct that [Cohen] might have something to say of interest to the special counsel.”

Davis also said:“I should not be talking to reporters on background about something I’m not certain about.”

After Trump blasted the news network on Twitter over the story, CNN responded with a scathing retort.

Trump came back Wednesday evening with a new blast of his own, tweeting: “Lanny Davis admits being anonymous source in CNN Report.” @BretBaier Oh well, so much for CNN saying it wasn’t Lanny. No wonder their ratings are so low, it’s FAKE NEWS!
