The President took to Twitter Tuesday morning to express his thoughts about our relationship with Germany. The tweet comes on the heels of comments made by Chancellor Merkel, who said that the United States is no longer an ally Germany can rely on.
The President tweeted the following: “We have a MASSIVE trade deficit with Germany, plus they pay FAR LESS than they should on NATO & military. Very bad for U.S. This will change.”
This should not be overlooked that despite being a cash rich nation, Germany continues to fall short of funding its fair share to NATO.
