Trump Tweet: Greeting the hostages, slams the NYT

President Donald J. Trump sent out two tweets Wednesday evening, the first about the hostages who were just released from North Korea and the second a slam against the “failing New York Times.”

As Trump announced in a tweet Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to North Korea to meet with Kim Jong Un and is returning with three hostages who had been held by the rogue nation.

On Wednesday evening, Trump tweeted: Looking forward to greeting the Hostages (no longer) at 2:00 A.M.

His second tweet slammed the New York Times, who bashed Pompeo for being on a trip while President Trump announced his intention to withdraw the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal. All the while, the secretary of state was headed to collect the three Americans hostages.

The Times’ headline said, “At a Key Moment, Trump’s Top Diplomat Is Again Thousands of Miles Away.”

Trump referenced the story Wednesday evening, writing: The Failing New York Times criticized Secretary of State Pompeo for being AWOL (missing), when in fact he was flying to North Korea. Fake News, so bad!
