TRUMP TWEET: Jerry Jones

Trump supporters and Dallas Cowboys fans will be happy to know the president is in support of their NFL team, after reading his latest tweet of Wednesday night.

In President Trump’s tweet, he writes: “Spoke to Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys yesterday. Jerry is a winner who knows how to get things done. Players will stand for Country!”

The Dallas Cowboys, also known as America’s Team, took a different approach to the protests that showered over the NFL this past weekend.

On Monday night, team owner Jerry Jones locked arms with his players and coaches as they stood on the field prior to the national anthem. Together, as a team, they took a knee in a sign of “unity,” but immediately stood up in time for the national anthem. The kneeling, incidentally, was received by a roar of booing from the crowd.

Trump also tweeted about the controversial move: “The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger.”

He followed that up with another tweet: “But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country!”
