President Trump sent out multiple tweets Monday morning regarding the controversy of kneeling during the national anthem.

In one tweet, Trump writes: “The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. NFL must respect this!”

Preceding this tweet was another post from Trump, claiming players were receiving boos from fans over their protesting. “Many people booed the players who kneeled yesterday (which was a small percentage of total). These are fans who demand respect for our Flag!”, Trump tweeted.

Earlier Monday morning, Trump fired off a tweet praising NASCAR for its reaction to the protesting.

In his tweet, Trump wrote: “So proud of NASCAR and its supporters and fans. They won’t put up with disrespecting our Country or our Flag – they said it loud and clear!”

Straying from their NFL and NBA executive counterparts, NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series team owners made it clear in a statement Sunday that they would not support those within their organization protesting the national anthem before the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Richard Childress, team-owner of drivers Ryan Newman, Austin Dillon and Paul Menard, and longtime car owner of the late Dale Earnhardt, said any type of protest of the anthem will “get you a ride on a Greyhound bus.”

“Anybody that works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people gave their lives for it. This is America,” Childress, a NASCAR Hall of Famer said, according to the Associated Press.

Regarding plans Trump has on Monday, he sent out another tweet about his return to the White House: “The White House never looked more beautiful than it did returning last night. Important meetings taking place today. Big tax cuts & reform.”
