Rachel Maddow of MSNBC is on a mission to take down President Trump. As a result, she is capturing the best TV ratings of her career.
Although viewership numbers for her show on Tuesday evening won’t be revealed until later today, odds are they were off the charts as a result of her releasing President Trump’s 2005 tax return (watch video).
During her program on Tuesday, Maddow revealed the top two pages of Trump’s 2005 tax return which she obtained from a D.C.-based reporter who claims to have received the return in his mailbox by an unknown source.
Although the White House put out a statement last night condemning the release of the partial return which showed Trump earned $150 million and paid more than $30 million in taxes that year (read statement), President Trump made a statement of his own on Twitter this morning.
He tweeted: “Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, “went to his mailbox” and found my tax returns?”
Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, “went to his mailbox” and found my tax returns? @NBCNews FAKE NEWS!
