The president had stayed off Twitter for most of Sunday. But then at around 5pm EDT, he blasted out a blistering tweet about Republicans not protecting him. You can see the tweet by clicking here.
A few hours later Trump was back on Twitter, this time going after The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Despite his very recent and very friendly sit down interview with The New York Times in which he heavily criticized Attorney General Jeff Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Trump used his tweet to slam their reporting style.
He also mentions The Washington Post in his tweet. Trump slams them too for being “bad.”
The Post issued a scathing report about Sessions in its Saturday issue.
Based entirely on unnamed sources, the paper published an article claiming Sessions revealed campaign information to a Russian ambassador during the 2016 election. Sessions and the DOJ slammed the report as being false.
The president tweeted: “It’s hard to read the Failing New York Times or the Amazon Washington Post because every story/opinion, even if should be positive, is bad!”
