Early Thursday morning, President Trump sent out a Twitter post in response to another tweet originally posted on September 16, 1917, with the hashtag #MAGA.

The tweet from user Corey Jones included a moving photo of a military veteran’s widow lying across the grave of her fallen hero, their baby in a carrier beside her. It was posted during the height of the controversy surrounding the NFL players who were kneeling during the playing of the national anthem.

“We stand to honor those who fought and died defending the greatest nation the world has ever known. God bless our vets! #MAGA,” Jones said.  Then he added in a second tweet, “Standing is not an option if you have two working legs. I will not support a league who allows its employees to disrespect our flag.”

“So beautiful….Show this picture to the NFL players who still kneel!” President Trump tweeted in response. (See photo below.)
