President Trump has responded to the violence which has erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia at the “Unite the Right.”

Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency Saturday morning, as the violence has continued to escalate, and the National Guard has been called in to get control of a crowd estimated to be about 6,000 people.

“We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one!” the president stated in a Twitter post early Saturday afternoon.

Protesters and counter-protesters have yelled and screamed at one another, gotten into fights, thrown water bottles and sprayed tear gas at one another, as police have been making arrests.
