Saturday, North Korea’s foreign minister, Ri Yong Ho, addressed the United Nations General Assembly in a 22-minute speech, in which he called President Donald Trump “a mentally deranged person full of megalomania” and promised that a strike on the American mainland was “inevitable.”
Late Saturday evening, President Trump shot out a response in a Twitter message, saying, “Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at U.N. If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!”
Ho had started off his speech Saturday with a grand-slam against President Trump, saying, “I feel forced to make comments about the speech uttered four days ago by someone called the U.S. president, that rendered this sacred U.N. arena tainted.”
He condemned the recent economic sanctions placed on North Korea, and said Trump’s insults make “our rocket’s visit to the entire US mainland inevitable all the more.”
The threat was not well received by President Trump.
