Trump Tweet: Responds to House vote on tax reform bill

President Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to give Americans a nice big tax cut for Christmas. Tuesday saw that come closer to reality, as the House passed the final version of the GOP tax reform bill in a 227-203 vote.

The bill will now to go the Senate for 10 hours of debate, with a vote expected to occur late Tuesday night. Republicans have said they have enough confirmed votes in the Senate to pass it there as well.

Soon after the House completed their vote, President Trump sent out a statement of congratulations on Twitter.

The president tweeted, “Congratulations to Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Kevin Brady, Steve Scalise, Cathy McMorris Rodgers and all great House Republicans who voted in favor of cutting your taxes!”

The House leaders who President Trump congratulated all gave remarks at a press briefing immediately after the vote. Below are videos of their comments.
