During a CBS “Face The Nation” interview broadcast on Sunday, former Secretary of State John Kerry, 74, refused to rule out the possibility that he might run for president in 2020, telling host Margaret Brenna, “I’m really not thinking about it. Talking about 2020 right now is a total distraction and waste of time. What we need to do is focus on 2018.”

“I think that’s the most important work we can do right now, is trying to elect people on a national basis and restore the leadership that the country needs,” Kerry said.

President Trump responded to such a possibility in a Twitter statement on Monday afternoon, writing:

I see that John Kerry, the father of the now terminated Iran deal, is thinking of running for President. I should only be so lucky – although the field that is currently assembling looks really good – FOR ME!

  1. The Ketchup King, you mean that John Kerry. The twit who threw his medals away, except the purple heart which he insisted on getting after he scratched his arm in a boat ride, then reported his brothers in arms for what he thought was bad conduct. The twit who takes his bicycle to cabinet meetings in Europe and breaks his leg. The John Kerry who has spent decades in office and accomplished nothing? That John Kerry!
