The United States is only hours away from a government shutdown if an agreement is not reached in the Senate before midnight Friday night.

Friday morning, President Trump sent out a single statement on Twitter, noting that the House had passed a bill to keep the government going Thursday night, and called on Democrats in the Senate to help get the job done. However, Democrats are holding out for their DACA plan, to protect illegal alien youths from deportation.

The president noted that Republicans need a larger majority in the Senate.

Trump tweeted, “Government Funding Bill past last night in the House of Representatives. Now Democrats are needed if it is to pass in the Senate – but they want illegal immigration and weak borders. Shutdown coming? We need more Republican victories in 2018!”
