Trump Tweet: Slams California’s Brown in endorsement for GOP gubernatorial candidate

As he was endorsing the Republican candidate for governor of California Friday, President Donald J. Trump slammed the current governor in a not-so-subtle way.

In a statement made on Twitter, Trump endorsed John Cox for governor, saying, “California finally deserves a great Governor” and adding he will be, “the best Governor you’ve ever had.”

On his campaign page, Cox offers his own slam against Brown: “Once the land of promise and opportunity, California today is on the brink of financial insolvency, thanks to the failed policies of the Jerry Brown Liberal Democrats.”

According to Cox, he can save California by rolling back “oppressive regulations” and focusing on economic growth. He also plans to “end the sanctuary state” policy.

Trump tweeted: California finally deserves a great Governor, one who understands borders, crime and lowering taxes. John Cox is the man – he’ll be the best Governor you’ve ever had. I fully endorse John Cox for Governor and look forward to working with him to Make California Great Again!
