Trump Tweets: Blasts Hillary Clinton

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton laid the blame for her 2016 presidential election loss squarely on the shoulders of FBI director James Comey and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, saying each had “scared off” voters.

Speaking at a charity event in New York, the former Democratic candidate said she took “absolute personal responsibility” for a progression of campaign missteps that added to her misfortune at the polls.

However, she also didn’t hesitate to name two outside influences which she feels ultimately tanked her campaign, pointing fingers at Russia and WikiLeaks — for hacking into the email accounts of her confidantes and making the contents public — and at James Comey, who announced just before the Nov. 8 election that he was re-opening the investigation into Clinton’s utilization of a private email server while secretary of state.

President Trump had strong words to say in response to Clinton’s remarks and made them known via a two-part tweet which came out just this morning.

“FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds!

“The phony Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election. Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?”
