President Donald Trump continued his campaign against the “Fake News Media” on Thursday by posting a tweet contending that the mainstream media is “desperate” to criticize the Republican tax reform legislation in order to “please their Democrat bosses.”

Trump asserted that benefits of the newly passed tax reform plan “will soon be kicking in and will speak for themselves.”

The president also noted that companies, such as AT&T, are “already making big payments to workers.”

Following the passage of the tax reform legislation on Wednesday, AT&T announced its plan to pay bonuses of $1,000 to more than 200,000 U.S. employees. AT&T’s CEO said the move was in response to tax reform.

Trump tweeted, “The Massive Tax Cuts, which the Fake News Media is desperate to write badly about so as to please their Democrat bosses, will soon be kicking in and will speak for themselves. Companies are already making big payments to workers. Dems want to raise taxes, hate these big Cuts!”

Trump also mentioned an ally in his battle against fake news, tweeting congratulations to Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” for being “named the most influential show in news.”

“Was @foxandfriends just named the most influential show in news? You deserve it – three great people! The many Fake News Hate Shows should study your formula for success!” Trump tweeted.
