Following a deadly terror attack in downtown Manhattan, New York Tuesday afternoon, in which a man in a rented Home Depot truck drove 9 blocks on a bike path, killing 8 people and injuring at least a dozen more, President Trump and his children have posted comments of outrage and condolences on Twitter.

Police are now investigating the incident as a terror attack, and it is assumed to be ISIS-related, as the driver jumped out of the vehicle yelling “Allahu Akbar.”

President Trump first responded soon after the attack by tweeting, “In NYC, looks like another attack by a very sick and deranged person. Law enforcement is following this closely. NOT IN THE U.S.A.!”

Later Tuesday evening, he shot out two additional tweets that said, “We must not allow ISIS to return, or enter, our country after defeating them in the Middle East and elsewhere. Enough! My thoughts, condolences and prayers to the victims and families of the New York City terrorist attack. God and your country are with you!”

First Lady Melania Trump also sent out a statement on Twitter, saying, “My heart breaks for #NYC today. Thoughts & prayers as we monitor the situation.”

President Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, tweeted, “Heartbreaking news coming out of NYC. Praying for the victims.”

The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, responded to a statement that said, “Multiple witnesses told NYPD detectives that the suspect yelled ‘Allahu Akbar’.”

Trump Jr. responded to that news by tweeting, “I really hope this is inaccurate.”

President Trump’s second-eldest son, Eric Trump, posting a moving post on Twitter, apparently responding to the news of the terror attack with a message of thanks to New York City’s law enforcement.

“Thank you to #lawenforcement across the country! Little Luke aspires to be like you! Happy Halloween! 👮🇺🇸🍼,” Eric Trump tweeted, along with a photo of himself and his wife, Lara Trump, with their newly-born son.
