After meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Japan, President Trump sent out several Twitter posts Monday afternoon.

The president first addressed a pressing issue back home – the Virginia governor’s race, where voters will choose either Republican candidate Ed Gillespie or Democrat Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam as their new governor on Tuesday.

Northam reportedly has a small lead over Gillespie, but the race has been tight, and it is anticipated that Gillespie could still pull off an upset, as he has been ahead in the polls several times also.

A Latino immigrant-rights group supporting Northam pulled a controversial campaign ad they had running last week, following the terror attack in New York City. The ad featured a pickup truck driving through a neighborhood flying a Confederate flag, and was made to appear as it it was chasing immigrant children.

“The state of Virginia economy, under Democrat rule, has been terrible. If you vote Ed Gillespie tomorrow, it will come roaring back!” President Trump tweeted Monday.

In another tweet, the President focused on his visit in Japan and joint efforts between the two countries, saying, “My visit to Japan and friendship with PM Abe will yield many benefits, for our great Country. Massive military & energy orders happening+++!”

Trump then tweeted about his upcoming visit with South Korean President Moon, saying, “Getting ready to leave for South Korea and meetings with President Moon, a fine gentleman. We will figure it all out!”

Earlier Monday morning, President Trump had tweeted a video clip of a speech he gave to hundreds of U.S. troops at Yokota Air Base in Japan.
