The president took to Twitter on Monday morning to voice his disgust with the NFL protests that continue to take place each week.
The president tweeted: “Two dozen NFL players continue to kneel during the National Anthem, showing total disrespect to our Flag & Country. No leadership in NFL!”
Without saying his name, the tail end of Trump’s tweet is a slam on the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, who announced last week that the NFL will not require its players to stand for the national anthem.
In a DML News poll cast Monday morning, readers who are rejecting the NFL were asked if they will continue to boycott the league by skipping the Super Bowl. So far, 93% of the people who took the poll say they will not be viewing the world’s most-watched sporting event.
Trump urged supporters to sign a petition in support of standing during the national anthem last week.
