Friday morning, President Trump tweeted about the American pastor, Andrew Brunson, who was imprisoned in Turkey in October 2016, and then placed under house arrest, on charges of “terrorism.”

The United States has denounced the pastor’s imprisonment and demanded his release.

Friday morning, Brunson was taken into court again, where he declared his innocence. Prosecutors brought new witnesses forward, who could not confirm the allegations, and the Turkish judge ruled that he be set free.

President Trump first tweeted, “Working very hard on Pastor Brunson!”

Then, in a second tweet, after Brunson was ordered released, the president tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with Pastor Brunson, and we hope to have him safely back home soon!”

Again, Trump tweeted: “PASTOR BRUNSON JUST RELEASED. WILL BE HOME SOON!”

On another subject, President Trump responded to the speculation that started swirling about his daughter, Ivanka, as a potential candidate for the UN Ambassador role. Ivanka later tweeted that she would NOT be filling that role.

Trump tweeted Friday morning:

So nice, everyone wants Ivanka Trump to be the new United Nations Ambassador. She would be incredible, but I can already hear the chants of Nepotism! We have great people that want the job.
