Trump Tweets His Position On Future Relationship With Russia

President-elect Donald Trump tweeted Saturday morning that only “stupid people” or “fools” would think having a good relationship with Russia is a bad thing.

Despite an intelligence report released Friday, which conveys “high confidence” that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 presidential election, Trump’s tweets suggest he is still committed to his campaign promise of restoring U.S. relations with Vladimir Putin and his country.

“Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. Only ‘stupid’ people, or fools, would think that it is bad! We have enough problems around the world without yet another one. When I am President, Russia will respect us far more than they do now and both countries will, perhaps, work together to solve some of the many great and pressing problems and issues of the WORLD!”

The president-elect also bashed the DNC Saturday morning, saying “gross negligence” on their behalf is to blame for Russia being able to hack their systems. He also claimed that the only reason the hacking is being talked about is because the Democrats lost the election.
