Fallout has started pouring in from across the nation over President Trump’s remarks during a meeting in the Oval Office Thursday on an immigration reform proposal, in which he was reported to have used profanity when a group of left-leaning senators presented him with a proposal that gave special consideration for immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of the package.

Trump had stated earlier this week that he would be willing to sign a deal allowing DACA, in exchange for priority items such as funding for a border wall, additional border security, and the elimination of chain migration and the visa lottery system.

In the meeting Thursday, Trump became frustrated that the proposal the senators brought to him was no where near what he had in mind, and reportedly uttered profane remarks, specifically mentioning people from Haiti, and indicating America did not need to accept immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries.

All are nations from which thousands of illegal aliens have already poured into the U.S., and El Salvador is well known for sending drugs and MS-13 gang members into the U.S.

The left has responded in outrage, accusing Trump of being racist in his remarks.

In response to the fallout, the president first sent out a statement on Twitter late Thursday night:.

“The Democrats seem intent on having people and drugs pour into our country from the Southern Border, risking thousands of lives in the process. It is my duty to protect the lives and safety of all Americans. We must build a Great Wall, think Merit and end Lottery & Chain. USA!” Trump tweeted.

Friday morning, he followed that up with a whole series of tweets:

“The so-called bipartisan DACA deal presented yesterday to myself and a group of Republican Senators and Congressmen was a big step backwards. Wall was not properly funded, Chain & Lottery were made worse and USA would be forced to take large numbers of people from high crime…..

“….countries which are doing badly. I want a merit based system of immigration and people who will help take our country to the next level. I want safety and security for our people. I want to stop the massive inflow of drugs. I want to fund our military, not do a Dem defund….

“…Because of the Democrats not being interested in life and safety, DACA has now taken a big step backwards. The Dems will threaten “shutdown,” but what they are really doing is shutting down our military, at a time we need it most. Get smart, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

“The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made – a big setback for DACA!

“Sadly, Democrats want to stop paying our troops and government workers in order to give a sweetheart deal, not a fair deal, for DACA. Take care of our Military, and our Country, FIRST!”
