Immediately following the Senate’s final vote Saturday afternoon to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh as the next Justice to the Supreme Court, President Trump sent out a statement on Twitter.

Kavanaugh was confirmed in a 50-48 vote.

The president was watching the vote from Air Force One, as he was on his way to a campaign rally in Topeka, Kansas. He tweeted:

I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court. Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!

One Republican Senator, Steve Daines, of Montana, missed the vote, in order to attend his daughter’s wedding on Saturday. President Trump tweeted:

I have asked Steve Daines, our great Republican Senator from Montana, to attend his daughter Annie’s wedding rather than coming to today’s vote. Steve was ready to do whatever he had to, but we had the necessary number. To the Daines Family, congratulations-have a wonderful day!

  1. I tried very hard to give these Den Senators the benefit of the doubt in their treatment of Judge Kavanaugh during these brutal confirmation proceeding! But I have never in my lifetime seen or heard such venum spewing from the mouths of politicians. The Democratic senators were so vicious & so hateful in their treatment & questioning of Judge Kavanaugh, I was continuously shocked @ their behavior! And then they turned it around & said HE was disrespectful of them when responding their questions!! Asking questions of this man & NOT allowing to answer before shooting back with another question! Disgraceful behavior for so called adults in such positions of power. They should ALL be stripped of their positions in the Senate! Disgusted with them all!

    • Trish, I couldn’t have said it any better! The Democratic Party has finally come out in the open and showed their true colors. All these years they faked what they believe in. I only wish that Chuck Schumer and all the others who were so disgraceful in handling such a high honor (Supreme court Justice) would be called out by one of the METOO movement people. I want them to deny the claims and I want them to be found guilty just because SHE SAID SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is my wish. I’ve added it to my nightly prayer.

  2. Treating any person as guilty just based upon the words of another is outrageous!
I can only hope those who disrespected ‘innocent until proven guilty’ suffer the same misery they put on Kavanaugh.

  3. Rick, I can’t agree more, it’s actually happened to me and in the end I was totally cleared, but it almost ruined mine and my daughter’s life and my family. I am so happy and relieved that they finally stood up to these dem liars and never backed down! Now let’s get to the polls next month and give them some more help….Voting straight GOP like always!

  4. shameful isn’t even the word to describe what they were/are doing. Never in my 75 years have I ever seen anything like this. Why don’t they go somewhere else to protest and see what that gets them? China, Japan
maybe. To go after his family was just horrible. I used to be a democrat but chose to be an independent when Bill Clinton was running for president. Best choice I ever made.

  5. I am elated that Judge Kavanaugh got the position to the Supreme Court. I was appalled at the Democrats of Crime to go to such lows as to have Ford lie under oath. But I am not surprised, pictures have shown her to be in the company of Killary and Soros.

  6. The silent majority will come out to vote for the Republicans in November just as they did in 2016 because we are fedup with the “ mob rule” the Dems use against anyone that does not agree with them. We are a republic with a constitution that gives us fudimental rights innocent until proven guilty! If we fail to keep the majority in the house & senate we are in danger of allowing our freedoms so hard fought for against all foreign or domestic forces of evil we will fail our children and grandchildren futures from socialism that always turns to communism leaving them in a world of bondage. I am a 71 year old women that has watched this disgraceful circus the dems have created and the lies they have force feed our youth! This is what is our biggest danger is to our whole way of life! Vote Republican! Save our freedoms and our constitution and our rule of law do not let the mob mentality rule our America!
