Trump Tweets: Slams Dem’s over DACA, spending package

President Donald J. Trump sent out a pair of tweets Wednesday evening, slamming Democrats for their priorities on spending and for not addressing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy in a bipartisan spending package.

Trump said he had to fight for the things he wanted to include in the proposal, like funding for the border wall and military, but that Democrats had refused to do anything for DACA.

In his first tweet, Trump wrote: Got $1.6 Billion to start Wall on Southern Border, rest will be forthcoming. Most importantly, got $700 Billion to rebuild our Military, $716 Billion next year…most ever. Had to waste money on Dem giveaways in order to take care of military pay increase and new equipment.

He was referencing a Congressional spending package set to be voted on this week. The massive $1.3 trillion plan will include a gun background check rider, but it does nothing for DACA recipients.

Trump mentioned the veiled amnesty policy in his second tweet, writing: Democrats refused to take care of DACA. Would have been so easy, but they just didn’t care. I had to fight for Military and start of Wall.
