Trump Tweets: Thanks Bannon, meeting at Camp David, police officer

The announcement came Friday that White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has departed from the Trump administration, with Friday being his last day.  He reportedly turned in his two weeks notice on August 7.

Bannon has now returned to his role as executive chairman of Breitbart News.

Saturday morning, President Trump sent out a Twitter post, thanking Bannon, who not only served during the first 7 months of his presidency, but was also a part of Trump’s presidential campaign, beginning in August 2016.

“I want to thank Steve Bannon for his service. He came to the campaign during my run against Crooked Hillary Clinton – it was great! Thanks S,” Trump tweeted.

The president then sent out a message about his day at Camp David on Friday, where he went to discuss strategy on Afghanistan with military and defense leaders.

“Important day spent at Camp David with our very talented Generals and military leaders. Many decisions made, including on Afghanistan,” Trump tweeted.

Late Friday night, President Trump also sent out a Twitter message about the attack on police officers in Florida, in which one officer was killed.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the @KissimmeePolice and their loved ones. We are with you!#LESM,” Trump tweeted.
