On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 34.72 points to 20,810.32, the S&P 500 gained 0.99 points to 2,363.81, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 25.12 points to close at 5,835.51.
The rise in the stock indexes captured the attention of President Trump, as did the headline published by Fox News that credited him for the bullish day on Wall Street. About one hour ago, the president tweeted out a link to the Fox News article, and above the link, he wrote: ‘S&P 500 Edges Higher After Trump Renews Jobs Pledge’

The Fox News article starts by stating that “U.S. stocks edged higher on Thursday, buoyed by energy stocks and a renewed pledge by President Donald Trump to chief executives of major U.S. companies to bring back millions of jobs to the United States.”
