On Sunday night, President Donald J. Trump sent out a massive wave of tweets. In one, he had a message for furloughed Federal employees. In a set of retweets, he highlighted the support he’s been getting from GOP senators for his proposed shutdown solution. He also celebrated his first two years in the White House, complimented his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, and more

In a message to furloughed federal workers, Trump tweeted: “To all of the great people who are working so hard for your Country and not getting paid I say, THANK YOU – YOU ARE GREAT PATRIOTS! We must now work together, after decades of abuse, to finally fix the Humanitarian, Criminal & Drug Crisis at our Border. WE WILL WIN BIG!”

After Trump offered a compromise Saturday to reopen the government in exchange for border wall funding, a flurry of tweets flew from GOP Senators, expressing their support.

For example, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) wrote:

“I commend President Trump for his leadership in proposing a commonsense compromise to end the current political stalemate. The President’s framework is a fair and pragmatic approach, providing adequate funding to secure our borders and offering relief to DACA and TPS recipients, goals sought by both Democrats and Republicans. It also sets the stage for a major immigration deal in the future, one that could secure our borders once and for all and provide long-term certainty for the DACA and TPS population.

“It’s now time for Speaker Pelosi to decide whether she is finally willing to compromise with the President and end the shutdown, or whether she will continue to pander to the extreme elements of her base at the expense of the rest of the country.”

On Sunday, Trump retweeted several of the statements from senators:

Next, Trump tweeted about Idaho Republican Sen. Jim Risch, who is the new chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Trump commented, “Will do a fantastic job!”

Trump also tweeted about Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) today, who was elected by as Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. GOP Senators Mike Braun (R-IN), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) were also selected to serve on the Committee during the 116th Congress.

The president posted some retweets as others celebrated his administration’s first two years in the White House.

From the White House twitter account was a video captioned, “The historic results of President Donald J. Trump’s first two years in office.”

From GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel was a message that read, “So many accomplishments from @realDonaldTrump and his administration over the past two years!” She included the White House’s video.

Vice President Mike Pence also tweeted: “Honored to serve as @POTUS Trump’s Vice President these past two years, working to deliver historic results for the American people – an economic boom, rolling back red tape, rebuilding our military & restoring American leadership on the world stage. PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT!”

Actor James Woods celebrated Trump’s proposed border compromise with a tweed that read, “Well played, Mr. President. You keep trying to make a deal and the Democrats would rather frolic on the beach. Both your speech and your proposal today were eminently presidential. Thank you for your efforts to protect our nation and our Constitution.”

Trump responded, “Thanks James!”

Finally, Trump retweeted a post from FLOTUS. He wrote, “A truly great First Lady who doesn’t get the credit she deserves!”
