Trump’s biggest 2017 achievements

President Trump has hit a few roadblocks in 2017, the first year of his presidency. Between courts attempting to block his travel ban, the fiasco of achieving a repeal in ObamaCare earlier this summer, and the FBI probe into his campaign during the election, Trump’s been hindered by some immovable circumstances.

However, despite the resistance, Trump has managed to accomplish quite a few feats during his first year.

Since becoming president, Trump has liberated the city of Raqqa in Syria from ISIS invaders. Trump at rallies has promised to bomb ISIS into oblivion, and he’s been following through. Since January, multiple ISIS holdouts have been bombed by U.S. led forces, and has put the terrorist organization on its toes scared.

Trump also successfully nominated a conservative replacement to the late Justice Antonin Scalia. In January following his inauguration, Trump formally selected Neil Gorsuch to fulfill the position, which was applauded by many in the Republican party.

In terms of getting the U.S. out of certain deals deemed detrimental, Trump cancelled the nation’s involvement in both the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Paris climate accord.

Illegal immigration at the southern border has drastically reduced after Trump bumped up security measures for Border Patrol, with an estimated 58% decline in border crossing attempts this year alone. The number of refugees being admitted into the country bas also been decreased under his administration.

Trump will also be leading the forefront in recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and is initiating plans to move the U.S. embassy there.

And of course, since acquiring the Oval Office, Trump has greatly overturned many regulations to further benefit businesses in the long run. This December as well, Trump and Congress managed to establish a tax reform bill to further benefit businesses.
