President of the United Stateds Donald Trump attended the “Celebrate Freedom Rally” Saturday at the Kennedy Center, and a church choir from First Baptist Dallas sang a song called: “Make America Great Again.” The song was inspired by Trump’s campaign slogan, which has become a battle cry for his supporters and an ongoing theme for his presidency.
The performance inspired attendees to enthusiastically applaud, after the performers sang two repetitions of these simple lyrics:
“Make America Great Again/ Make America Great Again/ Lift the torch of freedom all across the land / Step into the future joining hand in hand/and Make America Great Again.”
The president began his speech Saturday night saying, “Thank you to everyone from First Baptist Dallas. Tonight, we have been inspired by music that fills our hearts, stirs our souls and reminds us all of who we are: one nation, under God.”
Referencing the choir and the song, he continued, “I heard them backstage, I said ‘let me out there, that is the most beautiful music’. Your music honors our heroes more than words could ever do.”
You can hear the song in the video clip below.
