Trump’s next big meeting is olympic

President Trump is meeting with the International Olympic Committee Thursday, just three months before the body holds the final vote on who will host the 2024 games.

The candidates for the 2024 games have been whittled to two: Los Angeles and Paris. The two cities have been arguing their respective cases for months and the President is expected to pick up the torch for LA.

While the White House has been quiet recently on the topic, former Press Secretary Sean Spicer said in February he believes Trump would be “very supportive” of a Los Angeles Olympics.

Trump was extremely critical of President Obama’s negotiating skills before the IOC while on the campaign trail.

Speaking about Obama’s trip to speak before the committee in Copenhagen in 2009, Trump said in a 2016 campaign speech, “The president of the United States making this trip, unprecedented, comes in fourth place. He should have known the result before making such an embarrassing commitment. We were laughed at all over the world as we have been many, many times. The list of humiliations go on and on and on.”
